  • Location: Naperville, IL
  • Type: Contract-to-hire
  • Pay Range: $23.00 – $24.00/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on coffee roasting, grinding, packaging, and processing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Repair conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, bagging machines, sealing equipment, and other production machinery.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues before breakdowns occur.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests during production shifts.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair records.
  • Assist with equipment installation, setup, and production line modifications.
  • Ensure all equipment operates in compliance with food safety, GMP, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work closely with production and quality teams to support operational efficiency.
  • Perform basic welding, fabrication, and mechanical adjustments when needed (preferred).
  • Assist with inventory control of maintenance spare parts and tools.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous maintenance experience in manufacturing, food production, or industrial environments preferred.
  • Experience working with production machinery, conveyors, motors, and packaging equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics preferred.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Reliable, punctual, and dependable work ethic.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or maintenance certification preferred (not required).
  • Two or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, food production, or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to work overtime and maintain schedule flexibility as needed.
